Map Ironman
Strava has become the Facebook for endurance athletes. All the GPS uploaded from around world have also made Strava a mega playground for mappers. So much so that Strava itself made a global heat map where millions of activities are being interactively mapped from athletes and weekend warriors around the world.
I have also learned that if doesn’t show up on Strava, it did not happen in the real world. So I got myself an account. At the same year, Riccardo Tortini took me to a marathon-like 3 km run that almost killed me. At that time, I would never thought I will give up chalk and barbell and start wearing tight cycling jersey and running in the rain.
Well 2 years later, I am proud to call myself a triathlete.
But.
Strava made it so difficult for me to make a heat map just to show my own activities. It did allow you to bulk export all your activities uploads from its server and that is a good enough start for me!
A few lunch breaks later, I mapped all 780 activities mostly in Vancouver and Victoria. I also really like Ironman’s new You vs You logo so I decided to throw it in there.
Here are the maps!
